Overview

Aaron has progressed through site engineer, site supervisor and project engineer (2IC) roles on major infrastructure projects in greenfield and brownfield environments. He works at the interface between client, contractor and designer, keeping programme, cost, quality and safety on track.

His style is pragmatic and delivery-focused, grounded in clear communication, commercial awareness and risk-based decision making.

Areas of expertise

Contractor management, contract administration, field assurance, geotechnical engineering, civil infrastructure delivery, mining operations support, utilities coordination, earthworks and road construction, QA/QC systems and inspection and test plans, variations and claims management, procurement and tender evaluation, and statutory approvals including Section 138 applications with TfNSW.

Development engineering for local government

This includes assessing development applications, reviewing engineering designs and setting consent conditions for subdivision and civil works, covering roads, drainage, stormwater, water and sewer.

He oversees the construction phase through inspections, hold point release and certification before asset handover, and supports defect liability and enforcement processes to protect council assets.

Contract and commercial management

Aaron has managed procurement, tender evaluation, contract negotiation and administration of major and minor works contracts. He advises on and manages civil infrastructure contracts, handling contractor performance, claims, variations and commercial risk while keeping disruption to production to a minimum.

Utilities and approvals

Aaron coordinates closely with authorities including Essential Energy, NBN, Telstra and water, gas and traffic systems operators, resolving service clashes early to avoid delays and cost. He prepares and coordinates Section 138 applications under the Roads Act, aligning design, construction method and approval conditions in constrained road corridors.

Geotechnical and field foundation

Aaron began his engineering career supervising drilling crews and geotechnical investigation programs, which gives him a practical understanding of ground conditions, constructability and site risk.
